Since opening the doors April 2, 1984, Murphy's has strived hard to keep its place as one of Boulder's favorite neighborhood restaurants. Started by Bruce Westhusin, the restaurant was one of very few north of Pearl Street and over 18 years established itself as a Boulder legend. In May of 2001, being a long time employee and friend, I saw an opportunity to continue the tradition and purchased Murphy's. Growing up in Boulder, I have seen the town go through quite a bit of change. Watching the local restaurant scene evolve had been very exciting. Food is being prepared fresher and more creatively than ever before. We too have joined this trend but have not forgotten the secrets of our success. Our goal has always been to provide creative and consistent food in a warm and friendly atmosphere. When you look around you may see customers from different tables visiting with each other. There's also a good chance one of us at Muphy's knows you as a familiar face. Our desire is that you feel relaxed and welcome here. After all, its's your neighborhood. Stephan Frye, owner
